RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- After about a two-hour search, the body of a drowning victim was recovered Saturday from a Wake County swimming spot.
The victim has been identified as 39-year-old Adrian Basilio.
First responders were called out to Raleigh Beach Road near the Neuse River Greenway Trail off Loch Raven Parkway. The Wake County Sheriff's Office said responders were told a man was in the water, went under, and never resurfaced.
Chopper 11 saw crews in boats, and divers in the water were searching with poles. Others scanned the area from a bridge across the river.
The Knightdale Fire Department was also at the scene and urged visitors to avoid the Raleigh Beach area.
The Wake Forest Fire Department, Wake County Emergency Management, Wake County EMS, Raleigh Police Department, and Raleigh Fire Department all assisted in the effort.
