Son sought day after mother found dead in Durham home
Deputies said the man is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.

DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) -- The Durham County Sheriff's Office is looking for a man in connection with his mother's death.

On Thursday, the Durham County Sheriff's Office said deputies were called to a home for a disturbance in the 4500 block of Red Mill Road in northern Durham County. When deputies arrived, they found 64-year-old Stephanie Donita McCoy dead inside.

Authorities said earlier in the day, McCoy's son, 38-year-old Alexander James Glenn Jr., and his mother were involved in a verbal dispute, and he left the home while deputies were present.

Deputies were then called back to the home when they found McCoy unresponsive due to a homicide. Investigators said evidence from the scene pointed to Glenn as the primary suspect in the investigation.

According to the sheriff's office, Glenn has a history of violent behavior and has been convicted of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and other equal or greater charges.

Anyone who has seen Glenn is asked to call 911 immediately. Deputies said he is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
