Hope Mills man killed in deadly weekend shooting in Fayetteville; another person injured

Authorities said it happened around 3:20 a.m. in the 6200 block of Yadkin Road.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) -- One person is dead and another is injured after a shooting in Fayetteville Sunday morning.

Authorities said it happened around 3:20 a.m. in the 6200 block of Yadkin Road.

Officers found a man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital, where he died from his injuries. Another person was injured and was taken to a hospital by private vehicle.

On Monday, Fayetteville Police identified the man killed as Jonathan Wells, 25, of Hope Mills.

This is an ongoing investigation.
